System 1.1 Core Rules
The core rulebook required to play any game using version 1.1 of the Cemetery Corner d10 system.
This book is currently in development and does not yet have an estimated release date.
Overview
What changes have been made from version 1.0 of the rules?
The 1.1 system has been streamlined, so that gameplay requires less time and brainpower. The Stat and Skill/Proficiency systems have been retained, but the complicated Skill level calculations are gone. For example, dice rolls can now be made without the need to consult a table of target numbers.
Why publish a core rulebook?
If we publish the system separately as the Core Rules, the time and cost needed to create individual setting books will be reduced. There seems little point in printing the same rules section over and over again, when players could instead refer to a main mechanics book. Players can also use the Core Rules to create their own settings, which is especially useful for those who wish to utilise the Cemetery Corner system without having to pay for a full game (which would contain backstory and setting information that they have chosen not to use).
Is the system backwards-compatible?
The games produced using system 1.0 can be used with the new Core Rules, although they will require minor adjustments (most significantly the removal of the target number table). The setting information and the majority of rules, such as Seraphim Fleet Redux's economy and the Lamented's magical rituals, will still be useful.
